Kerkythea - physically accurate renderer,. freeware.

Post by jph_wacheski »

Kerkythea is a standalone renderer, using physically accurate materials and lights, aiming for the best quality rendering in the most efficient timeframe. The target of Kerkythea is to simplify the task of quality rendering by providing the necessary tools to automate scene setup, such as staging using the GL real-time viewer, material editor, general/render settings editors, etc., under a common interface.

Check it out; for me, this looks like a nice replacement for bryce,. I used to enjoy rendering stuff with that,. although I now prefer the real-time domain,. some uses for this type of thing may arise as well,. .

Hey jph,

Some other nice render engines in the free domain are Sunflow, YafRay and good-ol' Pov-Ray. If you do have some money to spare, FryRender is the best unbiased engine at this moment.
